Structure of OLEDs

OLEDs emit light when electrical current is applied to organic materials derived from petroleum and other sources.
(Molecules composed mainly of Carbon, Nitrogen, Hydrogen and Oxygen)

As the electrons and holes recombine the excited state returns to the ground state and the energy emitted between them is transformed into light.
